We all know how important reading is, and how important it is to find the ‘right’ book. We’re all much more likely to read books that we really enjoy. Sôn am Lyfra aims to provide bilingual reviews of Welsh language books for children and young people.
We hope that the website will help children, parents and teachers find the ‘perfect’ books.
We’re trying to create a community of people who love books and are happy to review in order to help others.
Why not give it a go?
Morgan graduated from Bangor University in 2013 with a BSc Geography degree before going on to complete the PGCE Primary 3-7 course there.
After training as a foundation phase teacher, he went on to work in Dolgarrog teaching in KS2. Whilst there he undertook a Masters with Cardiff University looking at reading comprehension amongst primary children, specifically using the reciprocal reading method.
By September 2019, Morgan had left the classroom for the time being to pursue a full time PhD, funded by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and Bangor University, looking at developing bilingual reading resources and using languages flexibly. After completing the PhD in 2025, he worked for Conwy County Education Improvement Service as a Siarter Iaith Co-ordinator before returning to the world of education as a Welsh and humanities teacher in Ysgol y Creuddyn.
In his spare time, Morgan volunteers as a crewmember on the Conwy Inshore Lifeboat and enjoys organising Welsh music gigs with Pwyllgor Cymraeg Aberconwy.
